Winter Lights at the Nature Center is an amazing light experience with lights you control. It runs the last three weekends in December.

Winter Lights at the Nature Center (All)
December 10, 11, 12, 17, 18, 19, 26, 27, 2015, 5:30pm-8:30pm
Winter Lights is more than lights on a trail. It is an interactive and educational light experience that visitors control. Walk a half mile, stopping to control lights, warm up at the fire, or gasp at the finale at the Blue Heron Overlook.

Little Explorers (Children ages 3-8 and a grown-up)
All the Evergreens!
Saturday, December 12, 2015, 10:00am-11:30am
This month we will learn about evergreens, how they are used by the animals, and why they’re green all year! Little Explorers are children ages 3-8 and their grown-up or two. During this program we have a brief lesson, go for a nature walk, come back for a snack, and make a craft.


Holiday Potluck (All volunteers and members)

Reservations are requested by Monday, December 14, 2015.
It’s fun to gather at the holidays and eat too much delicious food!  Join the Nature Center staff and volunteers for a pleasant mid-day feast. Arrive at 11:30am with your dish to pass and table service. We’ll plan to start eating at noon.

Donations this year will be collected to encourage children to get outside. Items such as gloves, mittens, winter hats, scarves, sweatshirts, and socks for all aged children, both boys and girls, will allow them to get outside this winter and enjoy the season!

Special Information: Bring a dish to pass and your own table service.

Behind-the-Scenes Liberty Tour (All)
Monday, December 28, 2015 2:00pm-3:00pm  
Learn all about our non-releasable Bald Eagle, Liberty and see how and where our volunteers care for Liberty.

Christmas with the Critters (All)
Tuesday, December 29, 2015, 10:00am-11:30am
Meet our live animals in a presentation, followed by making a craft, opening the gifts, and maybe visiting Liberty’s kitchen.

Winter Discovery Hike (All)
Wednesday, December 30, 2015 2:00pm-3:00pm  
Join a naturalist for a nature walk to find out what is happening outside in the winter.
